I was shooting volleyball last week, and must have accidently bumped the lens release button at some point, because my 80-200 suddenly came off and crashed onto the top bleacher where I was standing (thankfully not all the way to the floor!).

Now there is damage to the inner plastic tube near the rear of the lens (several cracks).

Has anyone had this old lens repaired recently? Does Nikon still support this model with parts? It was made from 1988 to 1992. Mine is in mint condition, other than the impact damage.

Edit: Well, I think I've found the correct replacement part online...will have to call the store selling it on Monday.
