I dropped my D50 with a AF-X DX Nikkor 55-200 on it. The bayonet flanges busted off and the cost to repair $200.00~. I bought the Nikkor six years ago and was happy with it. Any advice on replacing it with a similar lens? Bill

B7H and Adorama have the 55-300 for $299. For the money it is quite a lens.
Do not settle for mediocrity. Rather strive for excellence for even in that attempt lies a measure of success.
