I bought two new lenses a week ago – 24/2.8 AFD and 28-105/3.5-4.5 AFD. After couple rolls I can say – very much satisfied with both. For me it is perfect landscape combo. 24mm is VERY sharp and crisp, 28-105 combines nice range, macro and sharp (although I chose from 3 lenses in store – quality discrepancy).
Nice shots, Vic. I have an F100 (with my old N8008 as a back up body) and the 28-105. I've been thinking about something wider and I am a little torn between the 20 AF-D and the 17-35 AF-D. Both are around the same price discount. I would've stepped down a little wider than you did with the 24, but the 4mm down from 28 do make a difference. And i agree with you that getting the 'free' "close enough for government work" macro (with AF too!) with the 28-105 is a nice feature. Keith D. Smith
Congratulations. Indeed a nice combo. On picture one, just cut the sky almost to the lamp post and the viewer will not be distracted from the gorgeous foreground. Great shot.
