Hi,

I have a Nikon 18-35 lens. I am thinking about buying a 50mm f/1.4 because I've read they're supposed to be great for sharpness; additionally, they should be better for available light (new grandson on the way any time now), and I would like to take some pictures of the newborn. I thought about the Nikon 60mm Macro too. I would like to take closeups (i.e., flowers, etc.) and I am thinking the 50mm might do better than the 18-35.

Can someone shed some real-world light on what one might expect in terms of image quality between the 50mm and the 18-35? Or should I be considering the 60mm macro. Sound confused? I am....

Thanks,
Dan
