I'm venturing into the worl of macro photography. Being new to photography I find myself trying anything and everything without completely understanding each thing I try. Nonetheless, i require some advice as to which setup will result in sharper pictures or if the difference will be that great. I'm torn between a Tamron SP 90mm 1:1 lens or my trusty Nikkor 50mm f1.8 lens on extension tubes. I already own the Nikkor and wil have to purchase the extension tubes. Is the big price tag on the Tamron worth it over the inexpensive extension tube setup?
