In my search to find a good price on a 80-200EDAF f2.8, I came across a used 70-180EDAF micro zoom Nikkor. My question is this, how good is this lens? I know that it is suppose to be good but I wonder if it is a good lens for me. I mostly shoot outdoors in the daylight and I very rarly use an F stop below 5.6 so the speed is not of concern to me. The focal length of 70-180 is close enough to 80-200. The added benifit of micro and the fact that it uses a 62mm filter are very attractive features to me. But I have seen very, very little about this lens. Opticaly is it even close to the 80-200? What I am loking for is only the sharpest of lenses.
