I ordered a new N65 camera and with it was a Nikon 35-80D lens. When I was talking to the sales person he was telling me that it was a plastic lens and that it wasn't all that good. I opted for an 80-200 aspherical macro lens. My question is how good is the Nikon 35-80D lens? Also, I want to buy a MB-17, battery handle for my new Nikon, where would be the best place to buy it from?
I look forward to a reply

That was the first Nikon lens I had. I got it with my original N60...That camera had a fault in it so it went back and was replaced with a new one... I opted to drop another 50$ and got the 28-80 with it...
I wouldn't be so quick to judge that little lens. I liked it - it was reasonably distortion free and very light. In fact it was so light that it didn't balance entirely well on the N60. I had a little rubber lens hood on mine to make it balance better. It's aperature isn't so hot but it's still a nice optic for the 60$ or so dollars US it costs!
