Thanks livinginthepast1 and Marty. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get out and do a little shooting this weekend. Loaded the camera with some brand new batteries and a fresh roll of Provia 100F. Once I use the film up, I'll be sure to post some pics. cameraniac

Jim, Scott, thank you for the replies.
I must confess that awhile back, I nearly broke my leg/foot in a tree cutting accident and haven't been able to do any shooting, at all. I'm just now getting to where I can walk around. Talk about cabin fever! I'm dying to get out and do some shooting. Have a couple of new lenses to try out too. However, before I can do any shooting, I have to finish cutting up that tree....ha ha.
>Well, have you shot any film with your new F100? If I ever >get another one, I won't sell it this time! It's hard to >believe it's been 15 years since the F100 was introduced.
Ugh! I had a nice, long reply typed out for you, Bill. Just before I posted it, the power went out and I lost it all. I hate that!
Anyways, sorry but I've only recently been able to walk around without crutches so I have yet to do any shooting with the camera. I found that I wasn't as well off as I thought I was when I wrote my last reply. Instead of shooting, I've been working more at trying to gather some equipment (which I am lacking). I bought an SB-28 to use with the F-100. I probably should have got and SB-600 or 800 so that I'd be able to use it on my D200 too but the SB-28 was less expensive. I'm hoping to be able to use it as a slave flash for the D200?
I hope that you are enjoying the holiday season, Bill and thanks for your inquiry.
Sorry Bill to hear you are still hobbled a bit. As far as flashes go I use a sb600 with great results on my F100 and D700. I also have a sb30 I use on my F100 as a popup flash, it also works great on my FM3a and FE2.

Joining the club as well. Got a F100 a month ago and bought a MB-15 to pair with. Got my F100 CLA by Nikon and i'm ready to start shooting with it. Almost end reading the manual. Let you know about the results. Just one question: Should i use the matrix or centerweight metering? With my F80 i'm used to CW.
Nikonians!!! My best investment made after my camera!!!

I remember the F100 having great metering capabilities and in all modes. I have to admit though that it has been a long time since I have used the F100.
There were issues with matrix metering on the early production F100's. The problem was corrected and the later bodies matrix meters are quite accurate. Assuming you don't have an early body, you should not have a problem with any metering mode.
What metering mode do you use on your D70s, D90, and D700? Good Luck and Enjoy your Nikons!
