I am just a new F5 owner and want to ask whether the film rewind could be somehow changed to work so that when activating it with the buttons 1 and 2 it could go automatically until the end of the roll. Now I have to very carefully keep the buttons pressed all the rewind time. In my F100 it works with one press only. I feel it much more convenient. (I already spoiled one exposured roll of film when thinking that it was completely rewound and was too much in a hurry to check from the frame counter !)
it's a very common thing to believe that you got to press the buttons the whole time. This is though not correct: Depress the two buttons completely until they lock (they do). Voila, the film rewinds without you touching the buttons.
and thanks for this answer. I feel myself very stupid now. I did just the same mistake as you describe in your review. And I already have taken some 25 rolls with this F5 before learning this now by making a serious mistake ! I take it now to the repair centre in Hong Kong due to the display problem.
Similar to the other answers to this posting, I do not hold in the buttons when rewinding. I just press button 1 (bottom right) until you feel it clicks into place, then press button 2 and rotate the lever and let go. It then rewinds automatically. I often use the manual rewind crank to use a roll of film again in midroll. For this, just just press button 1, and rewind manually with the crank. Doug
