>If it was a self timer (i never set one), why do I get blank >lcd screens? Not even an 'E'. >I can't check a setting beceause the F6 is dead otherwise. Sorry to ask the obvious, but is the top left dial set to the clock icon? If you can get to the custom settings menu and see what setting c5 is set to it'll say how long the timer is set for. To my knowledge the only time the red light blinks on the front of the camera is when the timer is on.
Are you using the MB40? Perhaps it's not snug enough and you have contact issues? Other than those things random power behavior is usually due to a low battery. Please keep us posted.
-- Is the mirror still raised? -- Is the LCD on the top right of the camera blank? -- Is the LCD on the back blank? -- Is there still film in the camera? -- Does the light still blink when you turn the camera on?
The reason I ask these questions -- sometimes "things" get reset back to normal when the camera has no film in it and/or when you open the camera back to get the film out. If there is still film in the camera, you can force the camera to rewind the film or you can over-ride the electronic rewind and manually rewind the film.
Once you get the film out, in some cameras (not sure about F6), if you have the camera turned on and you remove the batteries with the camera turned on, it causes a processor reset. Might be worth a try.
