hi guys i just what to ask before i buy is does your F5 rubber on the handgrip fall off? some say yes but when im looking for negative reports there no one tell about the hand grip but some say that the F5 sales in china is quite cheap but the hand grip fall off is usa version F5 hand grip fall out?? or in japan too?
Never had a problem with either of my F5s, and the people I know who own one, have never had problems either. I heard rumors of this happening years ago, so I assume it is for original models.
As for the China version versus the US version, if it is a Nikon F5 built in Japan, there is absolutely no difference. However, I would not discount that China may be duplicating the F5; they have quite a reputation for stealing copyrights, patents, and anything else they can produce without having to pay for the research.

The F5 I had did have to have its rubber re-glued twice when it was new (about 2 years ago or so). When I had it, the rubber that was on it kept rubbing off on my fingers. Although the owner attributed that to the harsh conditions he put the camera through in some rainforest trek he took...
I'm sure you are referring to alleged unscrupulous profit-motivated practices which have occurred in The People's Republic of China, and not making generalizations about it's citizens or people of Chinese descent ---scott
