A friend has a Nikon N80 (film) with a Tamron AF Aspherical LD (IF) 28-200mm zoom lens, f/3.8 to f/5.6. She wants to keep the N80 body, but also add a current generation Nikon digital body - like maybe a D5100 or D7000. What limitations, if any, will the Tamron lens impose? Will its full-frame film optics work with the smaller DX sensor?

Thanks, Nikonians, for any wisdom...
