So my first camera an f801 has just started giving me problems.
I tried to take a photo and it made a sound like it was trying to wind the film on but couldn't. Now the shutter is locked up, it still makes the effort to wind on the film but doesn't do it. Usual error message on the LCD.
I've tried taking out batteries and leaving. I've tried fresh batteries I've had the bottom off and the obvious cogs are moving freely. I've rewound the film and removed that.
I think I have the same problem. I have been using an old F801/N8008 for the past year. It worked fine until no, no issues whatsoever. Two days ago, while shooting, it stopped advancing the film, making a high-pitched squealing noise instead. I managed to rewind the film inside (it worked fine), but when I try to load a new one, I get that same sound, with "ERR" flashing on the LCD and "E" indicating that no film is installed, even though it is. Needless to say it won't shoot anything - it AFs perfectly, but when it comes to shooting it does what I mentioned before. The batteries are fresh, the film case is positioned OK. What could be the problem? Is the film drive motor broken?
