October is a busy month. I started with a trip to New Mexico where I dropped my 24-70 f/2.8 lens. The zoom was inoperable and there was a small dent on the back of the lens. And who knows what happened inside.

I dropped the lens off on Monday for service at Camera Service Co. in Atlanta - a Nikon Authorized store. They agreed to expedite the repair and thought they would have all the parts in stock. On Friday morning I called and the lens was ready for pickup. Yes it cost $475 - but the repair was completed and the lens was good as new.

I've used this shop for a number of repairs - including a body dropped in water. They have always done a good job, handled warranty work, and shipped gear to Nikon at no charge when needed.
