It came back, with deep scratches on the bottom baseplate, at the motor drive cover hole, and the battery compartment hole. Nikon tells you specifically not to ship the camera with parts or accessories, so I left both of those attachments out. The camera went in for the 1st time for LCD replacement and CLA, and second and thirs time for shutter bounce.
Needless to say, I'm upset. What will they do for me, or, what can they do?
Very sad to hear the problems are continuing with your F3. With their new parts policy it would be more than reasonable to expect them to get it right the first time, much less the third time. Hopefully this time they will get it right. Good Luck and Enjoy your Nikons!
There are indeed some parts that Nikon USA does not have, but that their authorized centers do. But there are so many F3's out there, and it was made for so long, that availability for most parts is likely.
