In next few months I'm buying D600 and 24-70 2.8 afs
Camera and the lens will be bought in UK, while I'm on vacation, but I permanently live in Serbia.
Does anyone know would my gear be covered by Nikon Europe warranty, and so, could I have it serviced by Nikons official service anywhere in Europe (Serbia in my case), or just in the country where its bought?
It would be quite inconvenient for me to send anything across the continent, as there is a perfectly fine and qualified official Nikon service here in Serbia.
I never had any issues with my Nikon gear, but it would be a big peace of mind if I'd know that I'm covered with warranty no matter where I buy my fresh new gear.

Dragan, welcome to Nikonians!
Unfortunately, you have a very difficult question to answer. I think your best bet would be to ask Nikon Europe how they would handle a repair of a Nikon UK product purchased in the UK on vacation and needing service in Serbia.
From what I have seen, as long as you retain your receipt, showing you purchased an official import product (in this case a D600) from an official importer in the UK, you should be able get service. Historically, this has worked. But times have changed and Nikon seem to be changing their policies with respect to who is able to purchase repair parts (official repair facilities vs. third party repair stores).
I don't want to tell you "sure, no problem you're covered" because I don't know and I don't think anyone can tell you what Nikon Europe will or will not honor.
Good luck with your purchase, I'm sure you will enjoy the D600, it is a great camera.

thank you on your answer.
In the meantime, I've contacted Nikon EU, and they confirmed that 1 year Europe warranty is ok trough-out all Nikon official service shops in Europe, Serbia included. It's just a case how much (hopefully not any) well... delay... would official Nikon service shop in Serbia do, before ultimately doing the necessary job - if God forbid, I had to claim the warranty.
I never ever had any problems with my Nikon gear, and I don't expect any from D600 either, but, as I would buy 24-70 2.8 as well, thats where my concern lays, with all this talk about zoom ring grinding, locking and so forth.
