I would like to sell a Nikon d70s and 18-200VR I bought from a local store. The lens was bought in December and is great. The camera has less than 500 shutter actuations and works great. I have NAS for a 70-200 2.8 for sale locally. Includes boxes, warranty cards, etc. I will only sell as a set. price negotiable.
Could you please be more specific on the complete model numbers od each item....Are you now saying you want $600.00 for the lens and $600.00 for the camera.....please indicate the complete nomenclature for the lens..
the lens is sold. The D70s remains. As new less than two months old purchased locally. Will sell for $600.00. Warranty cards and all acc. included. I apologize to all who inquired about the lens if I did not get back with you.I was swamped with offers.
At the risk of getting something started that should best be left alone, I have to say that these kinds of posts are hard for me to understand. Giving opinions about someone's sale and being critical and critiquing someone's decision to sell at a price are no one's business except the seller and the buyer. If the guy wants to sell his lens for $600, then that is his business. Why do we seem to have these "price police" who continue to want to tell us what a fair price may be and feel the need to tell us when they think some one got "ripped"? A fair price is what the seller and buyer agree upon. I think this should be a forum for buying and selling--not for offering opinions about what was a good deal or not a good deal. These types of posts are only opinion and I believe it takes away from the spirit of this forum.
No need to get all bent out of shape you sound like you wish you got it for that price.
I don't think that he will be able to get the net $1200 he's asking for by splitting the sale equally. If he's at peace with parting with 18-200 at $600, then good for him. I doubt he'll get $600 for his D70 body and there goes his $1200 asking.
Just to throw my 2 cents in here. I think that the $600 price wasn't a rip at all. Considering that you can walk in to any Ritz Camera and get this lens brand new for $750. In fact I wouldn't pay any MORE than $600 for this lens in used condition. Not when I can get a new one for $150 more.
Actually you can walk into any Ritz and put down your $750, but all you will walk out with is a receipt, not a lens. You won't receive the lens until it ships from the manufacturer. THAT is why people are willing to pay more than retail price for them, just to get one in hand. Occasionally you'll see someone selling one for sub $700. But they sell in minutes. Based on current market prices, $600 is a steal on this lens.
