Please take a few minutes to complete a simple survey and you could win a new Markins ball head.
By simply filling out this 14 question membership survey, you will help Nikonians tailor its selection of products and services to the majority of our more than 100,000 members.
All information gathered is strictly for confidential review within the Nikonians community. The names of participating members are kept anonymous and we only need them for the prize raffle.
The statistical aggregated data, stripped of names -with no names attached- is not only valuable for us to shape the community but also in serving our sponsors who are helping us to sustain the growth of the Nikonians community.
Nikonians participating in the survey are entered into a random monthly draw for a Markins Q3 Emille ball head and their choice of the correct Markins camera plate.
JRP, Is there a Q3 given away every month? If so, is there I place where the winners are announced? Also, once you submit a survey, are you entered into the drawing each month, or are you only entered when you first submit a completed survey?
Yes, there is a winner once a month of one ball head. No, there is no official posting of the winners. Flashdeadline is the one that deals with the winners. I am not sure if he is changing the announcement policy to let everyone know who wins, he is though collecting images of the winners with their gear. Only the ones participating in a given month can win. You cannot participate more than once since the survey automatically checks if you have already participated.
>Only the ones participating in a given month can win. >You cannot participate more than once since the survey >automatically checks if you have already participated.
This is a little confusing. Say I entered in February and did not win. Does this mean that since I have already participated I have used my eligibility? Or, does this mean I have to enter again for the next month? Or, since I haven't won, do I still stay in the monthly drawings without doing anything more?
"Does this mean that since I have already participated I have used my eligibility?" Yes. We raffle one winner once a month. The winner is raffled from the participants of the month we are drawing the prize for. We draw the winner some days into the following month, so that we have all the participants, which are prospective winners, that entered their data in the past month.
So, if you fill in the survey for let's say the month of April and we draw the month of April and you do not win as we draw the winner of April, you will not be able to win in any future draws since you entered the data for the survey in the month of April. April is April
"Or, does this mean I have to enter again for the next month?" Since you cannot fill in the survey more than once, i.e. you cannot fill in the survey once again in lets say May, since you already filled it in in April, you cannot participate in any other month. Your participation counts for one monthly raffle only.
"Or, since I haven't won, do I still stay in the monthly drawings without doing anything more?" Nope.

George, Of course it is personal and all of your personal information will not be tied to you as soon as stripped of names and aggregated for statistical analysis, which we do immediately. We only need your name for the draw of a ball head.
>I attempted to complete the survey but it was mandatory that >I indicate my income and my household income. Sorry guys but >that's kind of personal to me.
Or, those that wish to mask this kind of response will randomly choose an income, or pick the lowest (or highest). As this will make any income statistics meaningless, I am surprised that there is not a "rather not say" option. From my experience in surveys, it is the higher income people that tend to prefer not to say. Thus inferences can be drawn from those numbers. I too feel that the question is a bit personal. YMMV...
I see that question number 19 of the survey is a trick question. The correct response is no response if you answered number 18 in the affirmative. I have bought two ballheads from the PhotoProShop. Question 19 starts: "If you are not a customer of the PhotoProShop, ...". The survey will not let you exit if you do not pick a yes or no. It reminds me of the old trick question of "When did you stop beating your wife?". I know this is a "nit" because no other respondents mentioned it! On a more serious note, keep up your excellent work! It is an honor to be a member of such a civil community. --- Randy --- Cedar Falls, Iowa, USA
