I've loaded in CS6 Production Premium Suite, and updated the CNX2 and VNX2 as well.
In the past, the preferences for CNX2 (I learned on it) so LR and PS are second choices, showed the C drive location for Nikon CNX2 but after repeated attempts including a reinstall, (no registry clean as yet) the default is now: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe
The program seems to start fine however, if I change it back, how should it read?
Should I uninstall PS and CNX2 then reinstall it before PS?
Second issue, for whatever reason the cache seems not to empty, it stalls and gives close programs choices.
#1 - Not sure I understand your question. If it is related to the default location of your saved settings, then you probably need to click Edit|Preferences|Manage Settings and then, one by one, select your settings from wherever you put them. Check the box for the settings that you want listed in the Batch|Load Adjustments menu list.
I don't think there is a defined preference for the default settings location.
However, if you open an image and then click Batch|Save Adjustments and save a set of adjustments then I *think* CNX2 will thereafter remember that location for future saves and loads. The end result is the same as if they had defined the location in Preferences and arguably this is simpler and simpler is better.
This is pretty much how I set up CNX2 after a re-install. I use a different location than the stock location. If CNX2 defaulted to an Adobe folder then it was probably using your current Windows default folder, not having previously had one defined. Doesn't make sense but nor does your description of the initial default location and that is probably specific to how you installed (?????).
I hope this part makes sense. If not, ask, and try to clarify your question.
#2 - Click Edit|Preferences|Cache Settings to clear the cache.
In setting preferences for plug ins in Photo Shop, thinking NIK/CNX might respond as a plug in (they would not of course) I then removed that but you may be correct, CNX is seeing that as a go to default.
The program does open, so that seems moot then.
My question about cache is it simply does not respond when I engage the empty cache button. The screen locks up with error, not responding.
Is there a place where this and or any crash files resides in/on the C drive so I might delete the temp files manually? (I know there is somewhere but cannot recall the steps to unhide them).
