I am also in the UK and pointed this out on another thread...
The D800 is about £300 more expensive, but is a far better camera.
The only issue are whether my photo skills will do the D800 justice.
The file sizes are also another factor to be considered. But with companies offering the D800 on 12 month interest fee credit and a good price it is tempting.
