How are you judging the sharpness of your images?

The old 1/fl rule of thumb was really related to print size, not image resolution. I'd expect the same size print from D700 or D800 to magnify camera shake exactly the same amount. You should only need to change your rule of thumb to account for greater enlargement, regardless of what camera you're shooting.
