Lynn,
I would go with the Nikon 1 V2 + FT-1 adapter and any Nikkor lens you like. I picked up a V2 in December 2012 and really enjoy using it. After my D3S, it is my next favorite camera. You can't go wrong with the CX lenses either. Enjoy your trip.
