I found the NEX a bit awkward to hold but many people like it. I would select a V2 Nikon with F mount adaptor so the good Nikon lenses could be used. With the crop factor of 2.7 it really narrows the field of view with a smaller shorter lens to get the same shots as the heavy 80-400.
If the problem lifting the camera and lens? The sling straps of course relieve the neck from any weight at all. I love my Black Rapid RS-5 sling strap that allows me to shoot with heavy lenses at events lasting 6-8 hours without any fatigue or sensation of weight.
