I keep hearing this argument but cannot believe it because I have both cameras. Perhaps it is more apparent in the RAW files? I shoot JPEGs and like the mid size images from my D800 better than the large ones from the D600 at ISO 6400 and above even in poor light at Events.
For my use the D800 is more than worth the difference in price.
