It is a big switch as others have mentioned but in some cases will be worth it. For example for those who do post processing, the D600 and D800 files are "deeper" and as such, are more flexible. By deeper, I mean that the data captured even in the shadows will contain more recoverable data, a lot more, so if you are interested in wide DR scenes,metering for the high tones and pushing shadows in post several ev is perfectly possible and have color, detail and lower noise and artifact significant advantage over the Canon 5DII and 5DIII. Canon has not kept up with sensor technology and uses aggressive non-defeatable NR over ISO 3200 which hurts detail, color accuracy and contrast at higher ISO RAW but the JPGs look fairly noise free.
If you are shooting primarily JPG, there will not be such a difference and the Canon JPG rendering engine is quite good.
The ultra low noise in low ISO shots and the flash system are the two biggest immediately apparent advantages.
