Pics, just to be clear, I'm not recommending DNG except as an intermediate step for CG to get a D600 raw file into Photoshop CS5.
DNG is just another raw format like NEF. If you've already got a raw file that your raw converter can read, there's no advantage to switching to a different raw format. Raw is raw.
The usefulness of DNG is an interesting question, but few camera manufacturers have taken advantage of what Adobe apparently hoped would become the universal raw format. Most prefer to keep their proprietary raw formats in the hope that we'll buy their software to work with their files. (Just my opinion, you understand.)
