Attached is a photo of my D600's rear panel, the RRS L-Plate, and the Giotto's protector. As you can see the SP 8306's black boarder (adhesive strip) does cover some the LCD's info. I positioned the protector so the upper right corner's info would not be obstructed. And as you can see, the bottom row's info is halved. This line of info can still be read by tilting the camera slightly upward.
This protector's package is labeled as "fits" the D600; I guess it depends on your expectations of the word "fits". However, it was an easy install and the protector can be removed with the help of a hair dryer... according to Giotto's instructions.
I'm glad that I did the install of the protector and am satisfied just enough with it. The edge of the RRS L-Plate can be seen just below the word Nikon.
