I'm with Neil and I think his beef with the D600 isn't so much about the D600 as it is with the lack of a D400.
The D400/D800 combo would be a worthy and market-leading successor to the D300/D700. The only problem is, there's no D400.
D7000/D600 doesn't quite cut it, due to the "enthusiast" ergonomics. D300s/D800 has shortcoming due to the battery change, and of course we all know there are better DX sensors and image pipelines out there.
