My D600 is supposed to ship on the 18th and arrive on the 19th as well. When I placed the preorder, there was no option for one day shipping, and it was scheduled to arrive via two day shipping on the 20th. I replied to the concierge e-mail and asked if they could change it to one day shipping, and it was changed at no extra charge.
I like to do business with local businesses when I can, but I have pretty much decided to buy camera bodies and lenses from online dealers from now on. My local Nikon dealer has a poor return policy (no returns and 10 days for exchange), and they were not helpful when I had a problem with my D800. Online dealers like Amazon, B&H, and Adorama make ordering very convenient, and I can easily return something within 30 days.
Of course, getting a new camera when it is first released can have some drawbacks. I wonder how long it will be before Adobe Camera Raw is updated to be compatible with the D600 RAW files.
