Using a fine bush or foam swab to just dampen the spots would have little chance if water going astray. That AA filter is a harder surface than most people assume with a 5.5 mohs rating, about the same as window glass and harder than stainless steel.
IPA is the primary active solvent in expensive Eclipse fluid so you know the AA filter will not be bothered by it.
