Are you saying that you get soft results when using the centre AF point but get good results using a different AF point, or that you only use the centre AF point and get soft results?

Either way, we'd need more information about your chosen AF system settings - and a sample image to look at - before we can advise you.

I wouldn't try AF Fine Tune until you have a better understanding of exactly what might be happening.
