Fair price? Hummm, what camera has the IQ of the D600 for less than $3000?
What was the fair price of the D3x just before the D600 came out since it is the only camera that directly compares in IQ and resolution. It had been $8000 but was selling for less towards the end. Value and "fair" is a relative figure, it balances with the value of added capabilities that would increase the value of the work with, as opposed without, the new camera. If you had a client that based their contract on resolution and file DR, one session could pay for it so a fair price could be some multiple of what is being charged. If on the other hand, it is a hobby and printing large is not in its future, its value is solely how much it is desired as opposed to how much it is needed, because it is not needed. If a year ago you asked how much a ligher weight D3x would be worth guess would be in the $3000-4000 range probably. Stan St Petersburg Russia
