In the US the D800 is about 3K and the D600 about 2.1K$. The D800 is 43% higher if my math is correct.
I would think long and hard about the extra $900. However if sync speed or max shutter speeds are deal breakers for you the D800 wins.
Is the D800 worth 43% more than the D600? I think for most shooters especially non pro's the answer is no, but you have to answer this yourself. I also prefer a smaller camera. The D600 is 850 grams and the D800 1000 grams. I also prefer 2 SD slots.
