I am new to this forum, and this will be my first thread, so please break me gently
As mentioned on another thread, currently in the UK the D800 is available for approx £2,300 (my monthly take home pay), whilst the D600 is ~£2,000
On top of that will be the battery grip as they are not interchangeable with the D300 battery pack.
My first DSLR was the D70 (still works), though I have invested in a D300 and a D90 as well. Most recent addition was the red D3200 principally to be used by my lovely wife.
I have been looking at a FX camera for a while, though I will admit I am not sure if my photo skills (and more importantly my work-flow skills) are up to a FX camera. But I would like one!!
I have a large selection of glass, a mixture of DX format as wella s FX format including several 'professional F2.8' lenses such as the 70-200 VR and the 24-70/18-55 Lenses. SO I have the lenses to use on the FX body from day one.!
Also have th SB700 and SB800 speedlight flash units.
so I guess I have several options...
* buy the D600 now * buy the D600 in a few months time. * Save the extra few quid and buy the D800 even if it is more of a camera than I really need.
So my Question is... for my first venture into FX format, with the two cameras being very similar in price currently, what body would be better for me?
My photography at the moment is more land scape or candid rather than portraiture or any other specific, though with a friend we are intending to arrange a few weekends away the next year to use our cameras more often.
I have, however started to explore HDR photography. As such I do like the bracketing function on my D300 (using a customised function button) taking a range from -2 to +2 for HDR.
I see the D600 has a HDR mode, but with only 2 exposures?
I hope this post makes some sense If you need clarification, please let me know.
