The bodies I have are still better than I am as a photographer.

So true.

I have a A3 shot on the wall that I took with my D200. I took the same view with the D600 and the detail blew it away at a deep crop level.

But guess what - the earlier photograph caught the light better and the A3 print barely shows all the detail from the D200.

I should just mention that DSLR video is quite something, and as that is something you are after it's a good idea to get into that through upgrading one of your bodies.
