I currently shoot primarily with a D700 (extraordinary camera!). My back-ups are a D300 and a P7100, the P7100 for situations where I know I'll be rushed, packed in, jostled, etc., like cruise tours and the like. I like the D300 for the seamless move from the D700 in controls/placement, same battery/charger and for the crop factor with long lenses. That said, I'm increasingly intrigued by the D600 for advanced sensor, HDR ability (though limited), video (nice to have), live view button, auto/scene features (could replace P7100 as tour camera body?). The dust problem moves me not, since I'm sure that, by the time I buy one, Nikon QC will have that in hand (may already). I don't shoot birds in flight as a main thing, doing so only as the occasion comes up, usually using a 3-500MM zoom with VR and keeping my fingers crossed (aha! perhaps that's why I'm unsteady...). I rarely shoot sports. Opinions on selling the D300 (55K captures) and 2 DX lenses and buying a D600?
