I use Nik plug-ins a lot and have tried Capture NX previously. And so I did try Capture NX2 very recently and disliked the interface, and am concerned that the software is going nowhere, as Nik's thoughts are now elsewhere. But it's a good point and I may try again.
I am also keen to keep Aperture, although you wonder about the future of Aperture too, but I love the way it works with Nik plug-ins. My Nik license is valid only for Aperture or Lightroom.
I think there is a program that slings stuff back and forth from Aperture to Capture NX2 and/or DxO.
It's only really the vignetting that is a serious issue .. I have no need to replicate picture settings and there are other ways than ADL to fix highlights and shadows.
It seems absurd that devignetting cannot be fixed immediately in Aperture or other similar programs, though I have a feeling that Lightroom is better than Aperture.
It is rather hard to remove a vignette by eye from an abstract image. Maybe I just need to set up devignette presets for each of my lenses in Aperture.. Lots of photos of white cards, yuk.... But maybe if I did it that would result in the long awaited release of Aperture 4...
