If there is oil or lubricant on a sensor you would need the wet tools. VisibleDust has Smear Away or VDust Plus that is used with the above mentioned swabs.
But most of the reports of sensor lubricant are based on a dust spot on the sensor that does not move between shots over time. Dust can stick or become "welded" to the sensor. Not all dust spots move. If it is just a stuck dust spot a wet cleaning with Sensor Clean should take care of the problem.
I don't believe that I have read a confirmed report of lubricant.
