It would take a heck of a lot more for me to consider switching from Nikon to any brand. Like many I've got way too much invested in lenses and accessories. To say nothing of unfounded brand loyalty. But besides, stuff happens, Canon is no more immune from product glitches than Nikon, as we know.
If anything, I wouldn't be surprised if despite the public silence, behind the scenes Nikon is making changes to avoid a repeat of the D600 issues and the result makes them more diligent than a company that hasn't had their boat rocked. They may not be saying much but if it's effecting their reputation and bottom line you have to know they are taking action.
Either way I am sure once my D600 finally arrives (yes after a month I am still waiting) I will be very happy - and add sensor cleaning to my skill-set!!!
