If you are looking for a remote shutter release I can highly recommend the Nikon ML-L3. (Not sure if this was your question...)

I have both the D7000 and D600 as well. I use the Nikon infra red remote shutter release ML-L3 with both cameras whenever they are on the tripod. Excellent little device that is not expensive. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/207373-USA/Nikon_4730.html/BI/4775/KBID/5289/

As you probably know, you can trigger the SB700 with the built in flash on the D600 and D7000. The built in flash can be used in Commander Mode and will communicate with the SB700.

Here is one still life shot made with D600 and SB700 off camera and controlled by the built in flash.
