Last night (1/25/2013) was my first sports outing with my D600. I attended the Cleveland Cavs vs Milwaukee Bucks game at Quicken Loans Area. The arena has restrictions on lenses that fans can bring, so I left my preferred lens (70-200 F2.8) at home to use the shorter, but slower (in both aperture and focus speed) 28-300 kit lens. Most images were shot at 1/400 or 1/500, F5.6 with ISO 3200. All post processing was in LR 4. The images are on my website here.
The raw images had a little more noise than I would have hoped for. The High ISO Noise reduction was set to normal. I welcome any opinions whether setting that to "High" for shooting at ISO 3200 will be helpful.
