I totaly agree with the looks of the colors and brightness of the colors. It is a big step up from the D300 (in my case of course).
I do have to admit that in my case I have to be carefull with the auto-iso setting and shutter speed (yes I do occasionaly use the big P setting on the camera). It sometimes will go a little slow, even with the 24-70/2.8. But I am getting the hang of it now, now that I know how it handles it.
