Thanks Larry, As with everyone else, your advice is very helpful. The VR glass would most certainly come in handy on the streets of Italy. Unlike American’s, Europeans’ tend to walk and stand much closer together in public, so a tripod or even a mono’ would not be all that useable. I’m over there a few months out of the year since the 80’s and it’s always been that way.
In any event I look forward to holding both the D600 and D800 to see which one feels better on the draw. Maybe it’s just my twisted logic but the cost differential vs. features and capability seems to make the D800 a better value.
