PLEASE, PLEASE, don't say things to visitors here when you don't know what you are talking about. It causes people to do the wrong things, which sometimes hurts them.

Lossless, is absolutely lossless. Have you never heard of ZIP etc., and a dozen other lossless compression processes????

There is absolutely no loss of information, just some loss of compute time, quite possibly not perceivable.
