I went looking through other posts and found ControlMyNikon. I ended up downloading and purchasing it on the spot. This works great although not exactly what I had in mind. It does have live view but you can't have live view and shoot at the same time. But I am happy that I can shoot and have it automatically save to the laptop etc. when tethered.
I am still trying to learn how to use it but seems fine. I might even try loading Dragon Stop Motion onto my laptop because that has live view whilst also shooting and controlling every aspect of the camera.
