I always thought I was too tall to be a troll rrroger. But you are right, only a Porsche 911 is a Porsche 911. But I think the specs bare out that they are a LOT closer the a A7r and a D800.
Porsche 911 VERSUS Corvette Stingray Price:: $144K~ TO $69K~ Torque:: 325lb/ft@5600rpm TO 465lb/ft@4600rpm HP:: 3.8ltr/Flat6=400hp TO 6.2ltr/V-8American=460hp 1/4 mile:: 12.1 sec TO 12.4 sec 73.5 mile slalom:: Vette 2.8mph faster Skip Pad:: 1.04g TO 1.05g Brake@60:: 101' TO 99' 1.6 Mile Willows Springs Road Course 1:25.6 TO 1:24.6
So as far as performance goes, it looks like a wash to me. Oh wait, I get to buy TWO Stingrays for the price of ONE 911 with enough left over for a new D800!
I have always had a HUGE amount of respect for Porsche engineering and manufacturing. And their race history is impeccable. But I have owned 6 Corvettes over the years and some have been marginal. Lately they have become a true engineering marvel at a price no one in the industry can match. (IMHO)
