Lee - I think the answer is pretty obvious. LNR is going to result in a 30 second gap while the dark frame is "exposed." You might try either shorter exposures without LNR, or lower ISOs -- either to reduce noise. In either case though, LNR is going to result in gaps equal in length to your exposures and hence, the string of dots. Good luck. Star trails are fun!
