The last thing in the world you want is for some intermediate software to "accomplish other tasks while ingesting." The important thing is to get the files from the card to your computer -- intact. A simple drag-and-drop from a card reader does the job. Once the files are on your computer you immediately can make a backup and THEN "accomplish other tasks." Stephen to the contrary notwithstanding, there's no way a drag-and-drop can corrupt the files on your card. It's when you introduce intermediate software that the corruption occurs. I agree with Howard. I've made I don't know how many thousands of drag-and-drop operations from various card readers and I've never had a problem.
