I have just finished reading a magazine article reviewing the D800 (and D800E) twelve months on from release. Not surprisingly it mentions if you are to get the best out of 36 megapixels then you need good glass. Understood, but the point that caught my eye, bearing in mind that I am about to invest in new lenses for my D800, was the statement 'Of the more than 60 lenses that Nikon manufactures, only 16 are considered worthy." On the basis that I would like to buy a new wide-angle, an everyday kit lens equivalent, macro and a manageable 300mmm+ telephoto, I would be interested in Nikonians' experieces - should I stick to the "quality 16 only"? Unfortunately my budget is unlkely to stretch to the top quality lenses quickly and I will possibly have to look at good quality second hand Nikkors or substitute manufacturers, if I am not to wait to long.
