I have to admit that the 24-70 and 14-24 are my two fav lenses although I dont hesitate to use the 70-200 when i need to.
The 24-70 is a really good focal length for just about everything and the beauty of the lens is that the IQ is always good throughout the focal range. I would dearly love to see a VR on the lens though
The 14-24 is probably a sort of specialty lens as it the focal length and rectilinear nature of the lens are perfect to get some amazing shots in places that just arent suitable to capture wide angle type focal lengths through panning and stitching. I have a couple of shots which really show the beauty of this lens which is especially good at architecture where low distortions count. The downside is filters although the only filter i use and would love to use on this would be the Circular Polarizer. The only other downfall is the IQ drops off toward 24mm but this is not that much of an issue since you can swap to the 24-70.
I had a 16-35 and I think for some landscapes I would use it over the 14-24 and I may buy one again strictly for landscapes, but I certainly wouldnt use it for architecture at the wide end.
I this helps.
